Hi,

RE: NZ GOVERNMENT PROPOSED FIREARMS LAW CHANGES AND BUYBACK LEGISLATION AT PRESENT

As you will be acutely aware, our largely pea-brain socialist coalition government at present, in typical knee-jerk reaction to the Christchurch Mosque Massacre on the Ides of March 2019, and the rest of the mainly incompetent PC derilects in the parliamentary gallery – madhouse – are now planning a “Government Buyback of weapons” from good law abiding licenced and responsible gun owners throughout the country based on the past the Australian confiscation failure. Yes, they’ve even got incompetent Australian bureaucrats in Wellington right now who were involved in the Australian buyback now advising the NZ Government.

Well. I thought I would do a little research this evening into what actually happened with the pertinent statistics also included. Much to my surprise, I found this most particularly STUNNING SUMMARY AND ARTICLE!

Basically, it says, after costing the Aussie taxpayer nearly half a billion dollars, what happened – very few of the real high powered dangerous assault weapons were handed in at all – especially the ones liked by terrorists such as AR-15’s used in Christchurch. What happened, most people got rid of their old firearms they really didn’t want for a generous buyback average price of $475 to $500, in many cases much higher than they were really worth, but the expensive ones they didn’t hand back at all, and certainly very few of the big calibre, high-powered most dangerous ones.

As you will see in the article here below, only about 23% or so of the eligible firearms sought were even handed back at all, and most were shotguns and .22 rim-fires (pea rifles) like 10/22 Ruger semi-autos, which were handed in by naive, mainly scrupulously honest law abiding people, guns that are not at all and never have been suitable for mass killing of people by any stretch of the imagination as they are too small and underpowered and are mainly used for possums and rabbits. Yet the really dangerous high powered military-style weapons by and large were not surrendered at all, and certainly not any illegal ones owned by criminals, who I would suggest should be the real target to help reduce serious crimes involving firearms.

Note since the buyback and confiscation of firearms in Australia, according to this article, contrary to misleading Government promises and supposedly ‘expert’ advice from incompetent academics – those people killed by firearms in Australia since the buyback on an annual basis have risen by over 300%!!!

If the NZ Police and Customs can’t control major criminals importing hoards of drugs already, how on earth are they insanely going to succeed now with firearms, especially by confiscating firearms off around 250,000 consistently good, normal, law abiding Kiwi licenced gun owners? The suggestion that this is going to make a positive difference is utter madness, and would suggest, with respect, it couldn’t be further from the truth.

So much more in this article with actual GOVERNMENT STATISTICS – I found it simply superb and the best summary of the true situation so far I have read.

Feel free to distribute and pass on my email with this superb article.

Cheers.
