I was doing some studying and read the syllabus in the Caperton v. A.T. Massey litigation that was prior to the Upper Big Branch Mine explosion. Blankenship donated $3 million to a campaign of a judge that would hear his appeal case if elected. There was $50 million at issue.
This litigation might have compelled the Massey management to get reckless and/or increase their insurance coverage just in case an explosion happened or h.i.h.o.p., anyway, if you want to read the syllabus and/or listen to the brief comments by the lawyers, I have attached the two items.

Very interesting, although not surprising, as everyone is becoming corrupt, including the judiciary, both here and in the US and everywhere else.
So this leads to a very important question: Who is the most corrupt, NZ or USA? Well the answer is very clear – we here in NZ are the most corrupt – by a long way!
While Don Blankenship etc. was at least charged and convicted and spent some time in the slammer I understand, here in NZ, 12 years later, after the explosion at the Pike River Mine – NOT A SINGLE PERSON HAS EVEN BEEN HELD ACCOUNTABLE!!!!! and the Royal Commission has EMBARGOED all the evidence for 75 years, so no defendant can access the evidence to defend themselves and as a consequence cannot be charged. This is the sort of tyranny the US Declaration of Independence warns about, as has been the case under the English Tyrant King for hundreds of years.
