We’ve already seen the start of this in New Zealand, with large City Council Rates/Taxes Rebates for those on lower incomes. So plainly it looks like water and electricity will be next. Then, as food prices rise exponentially, when cash is abolished, will food be rationed or subsidized next too?
Already in Melbourne they are monitoring electricity bills for Vacant Property Tax. In Greece you have to pay your taxes via your electricity bill, and if you don’t pay, they cut your power off. With ‘Smart Electricity Meters’ imagine what potentially it may cost the middle class to charge their electric cars up, or even if they can when it will be rationed?
When cash goes, imagine when the electronic CBDC system comes in, each person could be designated into income bands. Those on low incomes would get a 95% discount off everything and those on higher incomes would pay the full price. Imagine going to buy an ice cream, you pay $25 for it and the old lady beside you on a pension gets it for $1?????
