The same leftists who gushed crocodile tears when children were allegedly being separated from their illegal alien parents at the southern border are now jumping for joy at the prospect of parents in California losing custody over their own children for denying them LGBT transgender mutilation procedures.
The California legislature just passed Assembly Bill 957, which in custody battles requires that the state’s court system consider whether parents are “affirming” of their children’s transgender identification. Parents who reject the trans agenda in such cases face losing their children for good.
AB 957 started off badly enough, only to be amended in June to add even more punishment for parents who are deemed to be insufficient in “affirming” their children’s transgender delusion. Such parents, under the new-and-“improved” amended AB 957, could also be liable for child abuse.

Because of the new law’s intentionally ambiguous language, the door is now wide open for all sorts of broad interpretation that put California parents at serious risk of losing their own children once the courts get involved.
“The California bill does not define ‘affirmation,’ leaving it unclear if a parent would be required to support a child’s desire to socially transition or receive medical sex-change treatments,” notes Washington Free Beacon California Correspondent Susannah Luthi Taylor.
“Nor does the bill make distinctions based on a child’s age or mental health record.”
Now that AB 957 has passed in the state legislature, it will move next to the desk of Gov. Gavin Newsom who is expected to sign it with excitement as he has made it abundantly clear on numerous occasions that he gets a thrill out of converting children to LGBT.
The legislation is so egregiously written, and its implications so ominous for California parents, that state Sen. Scott Wilk, a Republican, is urging parents in the state to take it seriously and respond accordingly.
“In the past when we’ve had these discussions and I’ve seen parental rights atrophy, I’ve encouraged people to keep fighting,” Wilk said earlier this summer about AB 957 before it was amended and passed. “I’ve changed my mind on that. If you love your children, you need to flee California. You need to flee.”
California is not the only state under attack by the LGBT mob. The entire country seems to be splitting in half over the issue as some states demand full-on acceptance of genital mutilation as the norm for children while others ban the practice entirely.
Some states, including California, have designated themselves as “sanctuary” states where children from other states can travel to receive LGBT “treatment” on demand.
Even in California there is much debate over the issue. The more conservative areas of the state are resisting the LGBT onslaught while the far-left areas push full-steam ahead in trying to normalize every kind of LGBT perversion imaginable for children.
Last fall, Newsom also signed a bill to strip the parents of out-of-state minors who seek transgender medical procedures in the Golden State of their parental rights. That law, in part, mandates that doctors in California withhold children’s medical information related to “gender identity” from their parents.
“Contrary to Democrat claims of protecting children, multiple studies show easing access to adolescent medical interventions in pursuit of transgenderism increases the risk of suicide,” notes Tristan Justice, writing for The Federalist.
